Reindeer
Experience a traditional reindeer sleigh ride, get to know the reindeer, reindeer herding work and Sami history on a genuine reindeer farm. Enjoy a hot coffee by the fire in a Sami lávvu and test your skills in suohpán throwing. Shorter and longer safaris available.
You can also join the reindeer herder and help in his daily work with the herd that lives in the middle of the wilderness.

Snowmobiles
Traveling on the snowmobile offers in addition to transport the pleasure of changing landscapes and the enjoyment of speed. Safari alternatives vary from a few-hour-safari to a couple of days, the Arctic coast as the destination.
Cross country skiing
You can ski on our maintained tracks or enjoy the glorious sunshine skiing on Lake Inari. Wilderness tracks are maintained from middle of February until the end of the season. Illuminated Juutuanvaara track network is available also early in the season. If you are a beginner, you can take part in cross country skiing school and get the hang of this sport. We rent skiing equipment.

Snow shoeing
Snow shoes are great for shorter treks and especially in changeable terrain. With a guide you can learn the right technique and choose a themed trek. Day time treks take you to beautiful winter landscapes or to a culturally interesting old Inarisami village in the museum’s outdoor area. Very popular is our night time Aurora Borealis safari.

Husky safaris
The natural way of getting to enjoy our wilderness is on a sledge pulled by a team of huskies. The quiet but speedy ride will take you across different landscapes. Husky safaris range from a few hours day trips to longer safaris with several wilderness overnights.
Winter fishing
Ice fishing is a popular activity during the sunny winter days. Coffee made outside and lunch by the fire taste better than ever before. In the winter you can also try out the traditional way of winter fishing for the Inari Sami, net fishing under the ice.
